Federal budget is full of interesting numbers, but light on details

If you need a snowmobile, you go buy one! But these two brave young men made a plan, a very amazing plan to bring home their new snowmobiles! Amory Wood and Brent Nakashook of Cambridge Bay, Nunavut flew to Yellowknife, NT on regular scheduled flight. Upon arriving they bought their snowmobiles but now needed to get them home, so they planned a journey to bring them home – not by air cargo, but by driving them home by land and sea.

The fact that caribou numbers are declining sharply despite efforts to either slow the losses or, with luck, increase the numbers of the vulnerable species is one of the biggest challenges we face in light of a changing climate and economic advancement.

I read a caption that noted ‘A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step’; and that is where we as survivors are today.

The need for community care centres for elderly Nunavummiut has long been a point of division in our territorial government.

It is amazing with today’s technology and advancements how we can pursue a program or adventure almost into the unknown. The world as we know it has become our global village so there really isn’t the unknown, however, the conditions and terrain are the unknown.
