RCMP seek public's assistance after male approaches child outside Cambridge Bay home

RCMP in Cambridge Bay are asking residents to come forward with any information they may have about an unknown male who approached a child outside a Cambridge Bay residence.

The incident occurred on Kingmik Street on Sept. 7 at approximately 9:45 p.m.

The individual in question was wearing black pants and a black hooded sweater. He was last seen near the community's elementary school.

"The Cambridge Bay RCMP are reminding parents and guardians to continue appropriate supervision of their children and if they see anyone suspicious in the area to report it to police," states a news release issued on Thursday evening.

Anyone who saw a male matching the description or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Cambridge Bay RCMP at (867) 983-0123 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
