RCMP seek information from public regarding apparent aggravated assault in Iqaluit

Iqaluit RCMP are turning to the public for help with an investigation into an apparent beating of a man in the 2200 block of the city.

The police responded to a residence there around 10:20 a.m. on Thursday and found a man who had suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to Qiqiktani General Hospital for treatment.

Robbie Mikkigak and Charlie Ningeok, both 32, were subsequently arrested and charged
with one count each of aggravated assault.

They are scheduled to appear before a justice of the peace for a bailing hearing on Friday afternoon.
