Premier Joe Savikataaq says his social media has been cluttered with comments and questions from people wondering why he hasn’t yet received the Covid vaccine.

He replied that he intends to, when the time is right.

“The Moderna vaccine is safe. It is effective. It has been rigorously tested and administered all around the world,” says Premier Joe Savikataaq.

“The answer is simple – it just isn’t my turn yet. We are making sure our most vulnerable and our beloved Elders receive these first doses. I’m not at high-risk, I’m not immuno-compromised and despite these white hairs, I’m not an Elder,” Savikataaq said on Thursday. “The Moderna vaccine is safe. It is effective. It has been rigorously tested and administered all around the world. I encourage everyone to learn the facts about Moderna, instead of opinions and fearmongering.

“As soon as my colleagues and I are able, we will be getting this vaccine, and I will share that experience with you all,” said the premier.

  1. Not his turn. Yet he considered himself and his colleagues essential enough that he said they could avoid the 2 week issolation period.
Is it because he never did take the covid virus seriously?
He is all talk but his actions always demonstrate something else.

  2. Baloney your full of it. It’s people like you that make Nunavut look bad. Childish attitude. What have you done to contribute to society.

    1. Served my country during war time. You? When will we start holding NU officals to the same expectations they do in the rest of Canada. The truth is he did go south and avoided the hub and then said other Ministers were exempt and didn’t have to issolate. Could you or I get away with this? I didn’t make NU look bad. It is his actions that make NU look bad.
