Nunavut reaches zero cases of Covid-19

As of March 20 the Government of Nunavut's (GN) is now reporting zero cases of Covid-19 in the territory with the last active cases in Arviat considered recovered.

To date there have been a total of 395 confirmed cases among Nunavummiut, with the majority of those making recoveries.

"Way to go Arviarmiut! Your strength and hard work has paid off," wrote Nunavut's Premier Joe Savikataaq on social media today.

The Premier was optimistic on the direction the community was headed and urged residents to keep going.

"Keep it up. I'm so proud of my home community!"

Anyone who has reason to believe they have been exposed to Covid-19 is advised to call the Covid-hotline at 1-888-975-8601 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. EST, or notify their community health centre right away, and immediately isolate at home for 14 days. Please do not go to the health centre in person.
