Welcome to the beautiful winter town of Cambridge Bay, where the Arctic Ocean is now freezing, making beautiful smooth ice to walk on or to take beautiful scenic photographs of our pretty winterland.

The lakes and ocean now have thick enough ice to go ice fishing. This time of year, they fish for landlocked char, orange-bellied char, lake trout and whitefish. Always check the thickness of ice before going on it with your equipment. You never know now that there is climate change happening on our land now. Even our school children from the elementary school head out to Grenier Lake to go ice-fishing when it is not so cold weather.

It will be Halloween once again and all our little children will be so excited once again going trick-or-treating all over town and there are already haunted houses ready for them. Be careful, dress warm and stay in well-lit areas. Look forward to some more awesome costumes.

Shipments that were supposed to be barged in and never made the last scheduled barge trips are now starting to be flown in from Inuvik. Priority freight will be arriving on a number of charters. Vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, etc., that are considered non-priority will be stored in Inuvik secured warehouses until next summer.

Christmas will soon be here and our first Christmas bazaar is scheduled for Saturday, November 18. Contact person will be Daisy Eyegetok at the Kullik Ilihakvik. Get your awesomest crafts ready! Another fun date to look forward to. Next week I can tell you more about the daycare auction and dinner. Stay warm and safe everyone.

God be with you son. Always in our hearts forever.
