Every Thursday our dear elders gather at the Elders Palace in Cambridge Bay for tea and snacks with games and prizes. All you hear is laughter. From bottom left to far fight: Annie PANAK Atighioyak, Mary Matomiak, Margaret KELLAK Okhina, Louisa KABLONAK Baril, Bessie PIHOAK Omilgoitok, Ann Wingnek, Susie Oyagina Maniyogina. Seated is Rosie Nahogaloak, David Kaniak, on couch is David Amegainek.

Welcome back to school, students, teachers and principals and staff. Hope you all have another successful school year. Quana to parents who always care and love and make sure their children go to school, waking them up, feeding them, helping with homework and all that support. Quana Mom and Dad!

Weather here on the island has changed so much lately. We barely had summer and now it feels like fall time already. We have had lots of winds and many more rainy days. Dressing warm in August is different. We have hunters, fishers who wait for weather due to whitecaps on the ocean out at camps and mainland. Always be safe.

Good luck to all the youth returning or entering universities and colleges across country. We welcome Nunavut Arctic College students and their families. Have a great year in our wonderful community.

God be with you son. Till we meet again.
