Hall Beach airport to get $10 million in improvements

The Government of Canada has announced close to $10 million in funding for runway and lighting improvements at the Hall Beach airport.

The money will result in an overhaul of the gravel runway, taxiway and apron as well as new lighting for those areas to improve safety.

The $9,973,717 comes from Transport Canada's Airports Capital Assistance Program, marking the first time Hall Beach has received any funding from that program since its inception in 1995.

Deb Schulte, parliamentary secretary to the minister of National Revenue, made the announcement on Feb. 12, on behalf of the federal minister of Transportation.
