City of Iqaluit updates which businesses are open and closed

For Iqalummiut wondering which businesses are still accessible during the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Iqaluit has issued an update.

Canada Post is among the businesses in Iqaluit that remain open to the public.

Arctic Ventures
DJ’s Convenience Store
North-mart
Canada Post
Baffin Gas Bar
Co-op Gas Bar
All Quick-Stop locations

Businesses that are operating, but are closed to the public:
City of Iqaluit
Uqsuq Corporation
Nunavut Fisheries and Marine Training Consortium
Qiqitani Inuit Association
Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated
Baffin Business Development Corporation
Northview RIET
Kakivak Association
Amaruq Hunters and Trappers

Businesses operating in a limited capacity:
Caribou Cabs (one-person fare per pickup)
Royal Bank of Canada (hours reduced to 10 a.m.-3 p.m.)
Canadian Imperial Bank of Canada (hours reduced  to 10 a.m.-4 p.m.)
Banking clients are encouraged to use mobile/telephone banking or ATMs when possible to reduce contact with staff

The city reminds all operating businesses to take precautions by disinfecting high-touch surfaces; promoting frequent and thorough hand-washing; using hand sanitizers or anti-bacterial wipes if soap and water is not available; avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth; delay or cancel face to face meetings and replace them with a teleconferences or online events.
